School Age Senior Group Leader

Summary:
Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator, the Senior Group Leader is responsible for assisting with programming and supervision of the School Age licensed program.
The Senior Group Leader will help plan and implement a program of activities which will ensure each child's personal safety while providing entertainment, physical challenges, and learning experiences.
S/He will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency.
The Senior Group Leader will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties as well as perform the following job functions.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITY:
o Understand and ensure EEC regulations as well as Old Colony Y policies (Child and Youth Care policy, Child Guidance Policy, Health Care Policy) are maintained at all times.
o Assist with planning, developing, and implementing the program curriculum in accordance with EEC regulations and Old Colony YMCA'S policies.
o Help gear the school age lesson plans to the needs of individual children with concern for their interests, disabilities, special talents, cultural diversity, and individual style and pace of learning.
o Provide leadership of daily activities, including but not limited to; Y Chat, Asset Curriculum, BOKS, Fun/Food Curriculum.
o Understands and maintains QRIS standards o Act in a public relations capacity when communicating with parents, school personnel and potential clients.
o Supervision of the program's children in all program locations, trips, etc.
o Assist in completing necessary documentation, including accident reports, incident reports and attendance records.
o Provide input in weekly staffing schedule.
o Family Strengthening- Assist in the timely issuance of a monthly newsletter/calendar of events for families o Act as a positive role model.
o Maintain proper behavior of children at all times with strict adherence to both the YMCA Child Guidance Policy, and the Child Care Policy.
o Ensures Fun/Food Curriculum, menu planning and guidelines meet HEPA standards o Assist in maintaining attendance records and all necessary reports o Meet with School Age Site Coordinator as directed.
o Provides leadership role in both weekly site staff meetings and monthly asset/school age curriculum meetings.
o Establish and maintain effective training programs, conferences, courses and other aspects of professional growth.
o Establish and maintain working relationship with school or other site-specific personnel.
SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL:
o Assist with weekly staff meetings with school age staff.
o Attend mandatory training sessions and all staff meetings.
o Assist with in the supervising, training, and evaluating of school age staff and volunteers.
FISCAL
Responsibilities:
o Ensure maximum enrollment is achieved.
o Assist with the Annual Campaign and other fund-raising events.
o Adhere to all fiscal policies and procedures, such as purchase orders and employee expense.
FACILITY/HOUSEKEEPING
Responsibilities:
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe program space.
Communicate to appropriate staff facility issues which need to be addressed in a timely manner.
INTERDIVISIONAL/COMMUNITY/VOLUNTEER/
Responsibilities:
o Actively participate on assigned committees and with the Y's Annual Campaign.
o Promote Y programs through public appearances and presentations.
o Attend at least 20 hours of childcare training annually.

RequirementsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Minimum of 18 years of age.

with 9 months experience with school age children, or High School diploma or equivalent and one year working with school age.
o CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
o Evidence of physical examination within last 12 months.
o Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
o Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work and thrive as part of a cohesive team.
Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
Will sometimes work early morning, late nights and weekends.
Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking responsibilities.
o Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs on occasion and 40lbs frequently (children) and move intermittently during work hours.
o Ability to thoroughly understand Y-USA's three focus areas:
Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility; proven ability to identify and meet the needs of the health seeker Recommended Skills Cpr Child Care Communication Conflict Management Finance Financial Management Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
